Abstract: The article deals with linguistic conceptualization and categorization illustrated by the example of the Kabardian head-lexeme. It is shown that by virtue of the anthropocentricity of language the lexeme becomes the only way to refer to horizontal surfaces, the upper part and the top of objects. The notion of “anthropocentrically strong / weak language” is introduced.
Keywords: anthropocentrism, anthropomorphism, body part term, polysemy, conceptualization, categorization, topological zone, anthropocentrically strong language, anthropo-centrically weak language
