Abstract:  The article discusses the process of extracting information from foreign language scientific texts using cognitive schemes. The extent of cognitive schemes influence on background knowledge actualization and adequate information extraction is revealed. We present a method for forming strategies which are necessary to process a text and the experimental data confirming not only the possibility but also the necessity of forming the strategies of text processing. The results of statistical analysis prove the reliability of the experimental data.
