ANTHROPOCENTRIC PERSPECTIVE IN THE LIMITATION OF INTERNAL SPACE: MODESTY

Abstract:  The article deals with lexeme combinations representing the notion of modesty in the Udmurt language. A special attention is given to trite and hidden metaphors. The analysis of a group of lexemes revealed that, firstly, they are related to the limitation of internal space of man; secondly, all of them are based on certain situations that were metaphorically conceptualized and mapped on the inner world of man.
