Abstract:  The paper deals with the representation of the categories of space and time in the archaic Salishan languages in the light of the mythological consciousness. The categories of space and time in the Salishan languages are concrete and qualitative. The author comes to the conclusion that due to the anthropocentric interdisciplinary approach, mythological thinking and its representation by the categories of space and time in particular can become one of the instruments of reconstruction of the history of non-literate people and their languages.

Keywords:  Salishan languages, mythological consciousness, the category of space, the category of time
