PHRASEOCONCEPT PERSON IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE: COGNITIVE FEATURES AND COMPONENTS

Author:  O.A. Titova

Affiliation:  Moscow City Pedagogical University

Abstract:  This article examines the concept PERSON presented by English phraseological units-antroponominants in terms of cognitive semantics. The author analyzes and clarifies the basic structural components of the phraseological concept in contrast to the concepts verbalized by direct nominative units. The necessity to follow the steps of generating the actual meaning of a phraseological unit is explained. It is shown that not only single denotations and significates, but also certain discursive categories can be the elements of the conceptual organization of a phraseological unit.

Keywords:  phraseoconcept, phraseological unit-antroponominant, phraseolexeme, atomic phrase, seme, frame, discursive category
