Abstract:  Some aspects of terminological gradation are considered in the article based on the example of the English marketing terms containing color term components. It is emphasized that in graduating terminological nomination the internal measuring standard of the speaker in relation to objects of professional interest is verbalized. The idea is that by means of gradation, rows of terms fixing syntagmatic hierarchy of semantics in the field of special knowledge are created.
