Abstract: The article deals with the problem of anthropocentric principle which has become one of the main factors that determine the focus of contemporary linguistic researches on studying language in correlation with the person, his/her thinking, outlook, perception of the world and their role in creating culture, civilization. Anthropocentric principle is associated with the attempts to study language phenomena within the dyad “language – person”. Anthropocentrism, which is focused on a person, brings forward research of anthroponyms, person names, and cognitive mechanisms of their generation. They are created as verbalization of certain cognitive processes.
