«SINCERITY» AS A WAY OF MANIPULATION IN LEGAL DISCOURSE

Abstract:  The article is aimed at defining the manipulative power of the notion «sincerity» within the judicial speech. The article involves the overview of the approaches to the notions of discourse and legal discourse, in particular. The analysis of the manipulative use of sincerity has been done on the cognitive, communicative and linguistic levels. According to the results, sincerity is an effective tool of information distortion by means of imposing social roles, evaluation of the situation.
