EVALUATIVE CATEGORIZATION OF CIRCUS ACTIVITY IN ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN ARTISTIC TEXTS

Abstract:  The article views the results of linguocognitive analysis of language means of expressing evaluation of circus artists' professional activity done on S. Gruen's «Water for Elephants» and D. Rubina's «Style of Leonardo»: key criteria of evaluation of circus activity that are universal for English and Russian consciousness, and type of knowledge that is used in the process of creating evaluative sense are defined; status of basic evaluative categories Worker's zeal (responsibility), Worker's qualification, Productivity (effectiveness) of work, Complexity of work, Quality of work is verified.
