Abstract: The author of the paper approaches the Internet as a special communicative medium for a language realization. Attention is focused on the virtual discourse as a means of communication between participants of net computer games. The author comes to the conclusion that virtual computer discourse is endowed with a number of peculiarities that are able to act as mechanisms making an impact on the formation of the secondary linguistic personality of a gamer who participates in virtual games using a foreign language (especially, English). Four mechanisms are particularly distinguished.
