Abstract: The article deals with some peculiarities of substandard formation of nonce words derived from English anthroponyms. The author hypothesizes that such nonce word formation is motivated by informative, expressive and axiological value of the word unit providing the law of minimum effort is observed both for the speaker and for the recipient.
