BLENDING AS A WORD-FORMATION PROCESS OF ENGLISH ARTISTIC NAMES

Abstract:  The article is devoted to the analysis of blending as a specific process of word-formative derivation of artistic names. The research results of the main word-formative patterns of blends as well as cognitive mechanisms providing a cognitive basis for the formation of their meaning are presented.
