Abstract: This article aims at specification of a cognitive model by revealing such linguistics phenomena as a denotative segment and configuration. Configurational type termed as «transformation» is analyzed as a parameter intrinsic to semantics of prepositions of movement on the example of French preposition a and English preposition to. The analysis shows that this configuration is an integral part of segments of cognitive models of prepositions of movement in different languages.
