REPRESENTATION OF RELATIONS OF OPPOSITION IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE: PROBLEMS OF CATEGORISATION AND LEXICOGRAPHIC PARAMETRISATION

Abstract:  The report is showing new trends in representations of relations of opposition in mental space of the Russian language. The analysis of ideographic dictionaries» data revealed the main cognitive strategies in representing these relations with 1) separate words with semantics of opposition; 2) lexical oppositions of two-words constructions; 3) groups of words (synonimic- antonimous complex); 4) lexical paradigms of different levels (classes of words, groups and sub-groups) which structure is formed on te basis of opposition. The variety of different lexical representations of opposition in different ideographic groups» structure allowes us to talk about different fragments of language picture of the world connected with the reflection of these relations.
