M.M. BAKHTIN’S CHRONOTOPE CONCEPTION IN THE ASPECT OF LANGUAGE AND THINKING INTERRELATION PROBLEM

Abstract:  The notion of chronotope plays the key role in understanding M.M. Bakhtin’s views on narrative forms and their evolution. This notion deals with the specific interrelations between temporal and spatial narrative text axes. Originally developed as an analytical tool for establishing the specificity of the novel narrative, the chronotope conception is presently interpreted as a conceptual mechanism for deepening the research of various fields of narratology, reception theory, cognitive approaches to literary text and even gender studies.
