Abstract:  The article is devoted to the description of the cognitive and discursive peculiarities of English neologisms in academic discourse. The importance of examination of linguistic changes in a close connection with the changes in a society, peculiarities of a mentality and psychological aims of a contemporary person is considered to be the basic idea.
