PERSPECTIVES OF FUNCTIONAL RESEARCH OF LANGUAGE AND SPEECH WITHIN THE COGNITIVE-DISCURSIVE CONTEXT

Abstract:  The article singles out the grounds of carrying out functional investigations of language and speech within the scope of cognitive-and-discoursive paradigm; point out the approaches to the definition of function in linguistics with respect to cognitive and discourse specifics of language units in speech; indicates the sphere of the use of functional approach in present-day linguistic research.
