Abstract:  The research focuses on cognitive processing of a derived word. The role of morphological structure in word recognition of a Russian derivational name was studied using a lexical decision task (LDT). The aim of the research is to reveal significance of structural and semantic complexity during word recognition process. To control structural complexity suffixed and simple words as well as non-words with and without legal morph are contrasted. Semantic component is presented by evaluation charge in a derived word and non-word (evaluative vs. neutral suffix).
