SHAKESPEARE’S SONNET № 122 AND SHAKESPEARE STUDIES “COGNITIVE COLLAPSE”

Abstract:  The specificity of background knowledge in fiction translation and the importance of the interdisciplinary approach to pre-translation interpretations are raised in the presentation. Cases of cognitive dissonance caused by errors provided by traditional Shakespeare studies are analyzed.
