COGNITIVE PECULIARITIES OF POETRY SELF-TRANSLATION

Abstract:  The peculiarities of the cognitive mechanisms of interlingual translation of poetic texts, which is performed in the mode of self-translation, are discussed in the research. Taking into account the integrity of the consciousness of an author and a translator of the poetic text, the semantic asymmetry of lexical units of original and secondary texts is analized. The concept of the dominant sense acts as the methodological basis for the definition of qualitative and quantitative parameters of the correlation between the poetic original and its translation variants. The poetic texts by Joseph Brodsky are used as the research material.
