Abstract: The study and solving translation/interpreting problems within the framework of cognitive science paradigm provide better insight into the notions of translation/ interpreting process and translator/interpreter’s activity. The article focuses on some cognitive characteristics of the translation/interpreting process that can be the cornerstone for its modelling.
