CATEGORIZING COLOUR: THE UNIVERSAL AND THE UNIQUE

Abstract:  The article highlights the issues of color perception and color nomination. The first is regarded as a universal component of color category due to the Embodiment theory, while the second is considered to be its specific constituent. This feature is manifested in a special choice of best examples used for color nomination in the language.
