METAPHORICAL CATEGORIZATION OF WORLD AS СOGNITIVE MECHANISM FOR MODELLING PHRASEOLOGICAL SEMANTICS

Abstract:  The article focuses on the specific features of the metaphorical categorization of an extralinguistic reality on the examples of French phraseological units. The author emphasizes the modelling function of the metaphor as the basic one for forming the phraseological semantics, defines distinctive characteristics of the metaphor, reveals fundamental metaphorical models in the phraseological space.
