CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR “PERSON IS A PLANT” IN MODELLING GENDER OPPOSITION

Abstract:  Gender metaphor is considered as imagery nomination of a person, marking the specific characteristics of “male” and “female” qualities. Modeling image of a person on the basis of the conceptual sphere of “plant” is investigated. Functional asymmetry in metaphoric characteristics of man and woman is revealed in the current research.
