Abstract: The presentation deals with a comparison of semantic patterns and cognitive frameworks [Кравченко 2011: 100] responsible for semiosis as illustrated by quasimorphs of English verbs. Our findings point to a distinction between data of categorization and descriptions of communicative behavior generating linguaforms and their meanings. Relevant ontologies, functions and methods of teaching foreign languages are discussed.
