THE RELEVANCE THEORY AND THE DISCOURSE COHESION PROBLEM

Abstract

Acting as a communication mechanism, language gives to participants of communication the opportunity and need of constructing and interpretation of the same text in various ways. With the purpose to reach an effective level of communicative process’ development , interlocutors are urged to realize what kind of specifically information they want to transfer to the partner in interaction and what optimum language means need to be involved for this purpose. In this report the discourse connectivity and the relevance of using discourse work became two main factors. Within this report the connection of discourse is analyzed in terms of relevance of the using discourse work, the relationships between two concepts are analyzed.
