Abstract

The given research deals with the grammatical peculiarities of poetry for children and adults of American and British writers of the 19-20th centuries. The theme of the poems examined is limited by the topic “nature”. We propose a thesis that there are some differences in terms of grammar in poetry of American and British writers depending on the kind of audience for which the poems are written: children or adults.

Keywords:  linguistics; poetry; poetic text analysis; grammar; British and American poems
