Abstract:
The report examines the scientific ideas of G. Paul and V. Humboldt, which anticipated the development of anthropocentric, cognitive paradigms of linguistics. Anthropocentric approach to the study of language is associated in particular with the ideas of active theory to the language, with the consideration of its «thought-formative» function and considering language to be the product of individual human experience.
Keywords: anthropocentrism, language activity, representation, understanding, language of an individual
