EVALUATION OF PROFESSIONALS’ ACTIVITY IN D. RUBINA'S NOVELS “SUN SIDE OF THE STREET” AND “STYLE OF LEONARDO”

Abstract:  The article views peculiarities of cognizing professions of artist, circus actor and musician in D. Rubina's novels “Sun Side of the Street” and “Style of Leonardo”. It reveals means of evaluation of these professions. Professional activity of artist, circus actor and musician is evaluated both in positive and negative ways with the evaluative criteria of worker's responsibility and skill, quality and complexity of work. Speech of those who evaluate their professional activity does not include any professional terms. Evaluative means are formed on the basis of metaphoric and metonymic models with applying everyday knowledge and refer to the basic level of evaluative categorization.
