EXPLORING COGNITIVE VARIATION – A STEP FORWARD TOWARDS REALISM

Abstract: 

The paper deals with the status and function of cognitive structures in their interactions with lexical items of Modern English. The prerequisites and factors of their interactions with environmental niche are evaluated vis-à-vis actualizations of polysemous words. Being a component of variable processes involving cognitive structures, the semantic structural status of a word appears to depend on niche configuration.
