Abstract
The article focuses on the peculiarities of cognitive interpretation of modus category of tonality in modern English publicistic discourse. The stages of tonality interpretation are determined. The article also underlines that tonality gives communicators the possibility of various ways of interpreting conceptual content and forming separate meanings.
