Abstract:
The article presents an attempt of integrating cognitive and ideographic approaches to studying similes. Cognitive modeling of similes with the component ‘MAN’ provides an opportunity to pay attention to the volume of some semantic categories and to the presence of several ‘foci’ in the category.
