BLENDING IN GRAMMAR

Abstract
The article provides a glimpse of blending as a basic mental operation that plays a pervasive role in language and communication. This process is widely deployed in human cognition, and is almost entirely below the horizon of observation. The functioning of blending in lexical semantics, syntax and grammar is also revealed here.
