ROLE OF MYTHOLOGICAL METAPHOR AND MYTHOLOGICAL IMAGE IN METAPHOR PHENOMENON EVOLUTION

Abstract: 
In the article the role of mythological metaphor and mythological image in evolution of metaphor phenomenon is considered. The correlation of metaphor with other mechanisms of passing sense in the language (symbol and metonymy) is investigаted. Special attention is paid to the question of the essence of mythological metaphor.
