Abstract: 
The problem of evolution of ideas about native and strange traditions in different spheres of life in the German ethno-cultural consciousness is investigated. Specifics of representation of concepts of HEIMISCHE TRADITION, FREMDE TRADITION, NEUE HEIMISCHE TRADITION in the German media texts are considered.
