Abstract: 
The article analyses peculiarities of interaction between scientific and everyday knowledge reflected in the process of determinologization (deprofessionalization) of specialized lexis (or Language for Specific Purposes – LSP) in its relation to such conceptual domains as ARCHITECTURE and PAINTING and metaphorical mapping with the target domain HUMAN.
