Abstract:
Fundamental issues concerning philosophical and psychological sources of foreign and Russian tendencies of cognitive linguistics are demonstrated. The author makes an attempt to reveal the narrow empirical tendencies in American cognitive research. А bit different concern is found in the papers of European and mostly Rus-sian scholars, who incorporate wider methodological foundations in semiotic and cognitive perspectives especially in ontological world understanding, as well as in cognitive-pragmatic processing of language.
