Abstract: 
The article is devoted to analogy as a one of the main mechanism of the category COLOUR on the basis of the adjacency of conceptual features of light, space and temperature. Analogy has a dual nature and is realized not only at the conceptual level, but also at the level of formation of language categories with their subsequent development.
