Abstract
Cognitive mechanisms must determine and regulate strategies of conceptualization and linguistic encoding of cognitive structure elements. The article deals with three cognitive mechanisms in the system of the German verb: perspectivisation (with the systems of perspectival location, perspectival distance, direction of viewing and perspectival mood), cognitive operator of norm and cognitive coherence. The attention is focussed on the detailed study of the verbal forms (infinitive, participle II, finite verb), of the werden-passive voice and of the tempus in two aspects: formal and semantic. Unlike the synthetic forms, the analytic forms are characterised by a greater degree of transparency and iconicity, as they fix latent structures / processes of mental acts of the speaker as a viewer.
