REPRESENTING THE SITUATION OF GETTING BASED ON EXAMPLES OF ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN VERBS

Abstract: 
Verbs of acquisition are insufficiently studied within the cognitive approach. Multilevel analysis helps to unveil a person’s attitude to different things of objective reality. For the analysis we choose one-stem and derivative verbs. Prefix provides additional information about reasons and circumstances for acquisition. Lexical level shows the presence of actants in the lexical meaning of the word. As a result of the analysis all the verbs can be divided into benefactive, benefactive-privative, and benefactive-benefactive.
