Abstract: 
The article deals with the problem of interpretative function of linguistic cogni-tion. The author considers lexical categories as ground knowledge for evaluative meanings which appear as a result of interpretation in the course of conceptual derivation. The formats of knowledge (functional, perceptional, experiential, operational, associative, observing) of lexical categories representing the field “plants” are brought into focus.
