CLASSIFIERS AS MARKERS OF CATEGORIZATION PROCESSES IN A NATURAL LANGUAGE

Abstract: 
The article deals with some ways of reflecting of object classification in lexical units in the languages of the world. An attempt is made to prove the syncretic nature of Chinese classifiers as a cognitive and systematic language phenomenon. Relations between classifiers and certain language categories (number, eurysemy) are shown. The cognitive basis of classifiers is described.
