Abstract
Definitions of neologisms reveal several linguistic theories. New words are those that are a sign of novelty. However, the concept of novelty requires specifiers: «time», «linguistic space», type of neologism. Cognitive factors contribute to the emergence of new nominations. Neologisms are a way of introducing new concepts that form the structure of knowledge.
