METONYMY AS A SPECIFIC CONCEPTUAL ALGORITHM OF DENOTATION

Abstract: 
Regular use of metonymy with identical in nature logical-semantic patterns available in different languages is indicative of the cognitive character of this mode of denotation. A linguistic personality, using metonymic algorithm of nomination, recourses to different linguistic means: lexical-semantic, morphological, semantic-syntactical.
