GENDER CATEGORIZATION IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract: 
In the article the principles of gender categorization in Germanic languages are outlined. Systemic and functional categorization are described, the latter being seen as a result of thinking activity, including the stages of gender positioning and gender pro-filing.
