Abstract:
The article explores some ways of using corpus-based analysis in cognitive linguistics. It shows how this method can be used to study the status of a concept in cognition and communication between speakers of a certain language and culture at a definite period of time, to reveal properties through which meaning of a word opens access to concept, to do research on synonymy and abstract words.
