Abstract:
At the heart of the cognitive model of the meaning of the verb lies an obvious image of the situation or event perceived by a native speaker. As a result of sensory information processing in the language system it does not correspond to the scheme or frame, but to another cognitive unit which has rather a hierarchical than linear structure that consists of the action itself and its relations with objects and persons who perform this action.
