Abstract:
The paper focuses on the concept of «perspective» to show that Cognitive Linguistics has elaborated a number of approaches to study the phenomenon. The author argues that perspective can be used as an effective tool for socio-cognitive analysis of different types of discourse. To achieve this aim, it is important to differentiate between perspectivation and construal, on the one hand, and between components, types, mechanisms and means (linguistic and non-linguistic) of setting and taking perspective, on the other hand.
