Abstract:
Investigating onyms in the aspect of their onomasiologic nature, it can be assumed, they were one of the first denominations in the wide range of other ones, included in the language consciousness, thus they accumulated centuries of the cognitive experience of world comprehension. The article deals with the cognitive potential of the onomasticon manifested in the phraseological semantic structure and the discourse, its role in the categorization process of phraseological space «Human character» in French and Russian linguocultures is analysed. It is revealed, that mental facts of material and spiritual culture of nation are fixed in a phraseological unit with a componentonym, axiological orientations of national society, a system of its moral, ethic and aesthetic preferences are objectified, peculiarities of a concrete ethnos are illustrated. The aim of the undertaken comparative analysis of phraseological units with dominant phraseonyms is in the revelation of the influence of component semantics, containing a certain amount of cognitive potency, on peculiarities of characterological features represatation in French and Russian world view.
