The article dwells on three conceptual categories of the fictional text: the author – the “subject” of aesthetic cognition and speech, the reader – the other subject of real literary communication and the character – the object of the both communicators, actualized in the text as a relatively independent “subject” of cognition and speech act. Gnoseological nature of the categories under study and various forms of their actualization in the textual structure are accentuated.
